Individual counseling (sometimes called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or treatment) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

Group therapy is the treatment of multiple patients at once by one or more healthcare providers.It can be used to treat a variety of conditions including but not limited to emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ADHD.

Couples therapy involves a deeper process that explores the roots of partners' current problems with the intent of resolving dysfunctional patterns of interaction. Often it has to undo the emotional damage that partners have inflicted on each other.

A divorce mediator is a third-party person that facilitates conversations between divorcing parties. The mediator's goal is to reach an agreement that both parties are happy with. Usually, you want a mediator to be a lawyer or social worker, but Illinois does not require any license.

Family counseling, or family therapy, aims to address psychological, behavioral, and emotional issues that cause family problems. Family members will work with a therapist or counselor to develop and maintain a healthy relationship.

Hypnosis, also known as hypnotherapy, is a method of inducing a trance or a dream-like state of deep relaxation in order to treat disorders of a mainly psychological or emotional origin. It has been practised in various forms for thousands of years by many cultures including Druid, Celtic and Egyptian.
